I’m originally from West Memphis, AR. I moved to Jonesboro, AR in 2015 to complete my Bachelor and Doctorate degree programs at Arkansas State University. I met my husband there in 2016 and we got married in 2018 right before I started OT school. I graduated August 2021 with my doctorate in OT. I have been a full time Pediatric OT since November 2021 and a part time mental health OT since April 2021. Pediatric OT is my passion. My favorite thing about what we get to do, is that we get to find new and creative ways to help this population develop and grow their skills for increased independence and self-esteem. I feel like so often society looks at people with varying abilities in a negative way. I love getting the opportunity to advocate for these amazing individuals to show all that they have to offer the world, so that their opportunities become limitless instead of limited. That is one of the many reasons why I love this field, because the opportunities are endless.
I currently live with my husband, our 2 dogs, and 1 cat. In my free time, I love to watch movies, read, and go on adventures/road trips with my friends/family.
I am so excited to get to work alongside such an amazing team as I get to watch as these kids learn, grow, and explore new opportunities while putting the FUN in functional!
My favorite quotes that I live by daily are:
“A person’s a person, no matter how small.” -Dr. Seuss
“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” -Jeremiah 29:11
